Pendo Kenia e.V

Mahenzo Green School
Location: Gede, Kenya
Year: 2017 (design phase)
Built Area: 1,000 m2
The core of Pendo Kenia’s work is to create, in cooperation with the communities, places where the path to an independent & green future can be shaped. In doing so their main focus is on learning locations that offer room for education and social events not only for children, but also for young people and adults.

Several years of project experience in the Watamu/Malindi area have shown them how important it is to carry out holistic projects in which everyone finds their place. Dealing with nature and its resources plays an outstanding role here. Their projects fit 100% to the people & their natural environment. Their inspirations come from all over the world, from pioneers who have already proven that man & nature can work together in the most extreme circumstances.

Mahenzo Goes Green aims to become the first sustainable green school project in Kenya. Our aim with Pendo Kenia is to not only provide education to disadvantaged children but to also offer a place of opportunities and perspectives. At the same time, we want to bring people and nature closer together and support the community to find a way out of poverty, into independency.
